Phuket vegetarian festival

During this October, and for nine days, held in Phuket (Thailand) the Vegetarian Festival; although the origins of this celebration are unclear it is believed that the festival was bought to Phuket by a wandering Chinese opera group who ill with malaria on the island in the 19th century; they decided to make a very strict vegetarian diet and pray to the Nine Emperor Gods to purify your body and mind with surprise to the entire group recovered completely. Then the festival has grown and has become a spectacular event attended by thousands of people coming from China and other Asian destinations.

Durante este mes de Octubre, y durante nueve dias, se celebra en Phuket( Tailandia) el festival vegetariano; aunque los orígenes de esta celebración no están claros se cree que el festival fue comprado a Phuket por un grupo de ópera china errante que enfermo de malaria en la isla en el siglo 19; ellos decidieron hacer una dieta vegetariana muy estricta y orar a los nueve dioses del emperador para purificar su cuerpo y mente, con sorpresa para todo el grupo se recuperaron por completo. Posteriormente el festival ha crecido, y se ha convertido en un espectacular evento en el que asisten miles de personas que vienen de China y de otros destinos asiáticos.
